We built Fluent Listening for teachers and schools. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We use plain language on purpose.

Who we are
Fluentli LLC, based in Texas, USA, operates Fluent Listening and is the service provider responsible for your personal information under this policy.
If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, "controller" means we decide how and why personal data is processed for our own product operations.
Information we collect
- Account data: name, email address, account role (teacher, student, staff), login details.
- School and class data: school name, course membership, roster/imported student lists.
- Learning activity data: listening progress, watch/listening time, challenge participation, and course actions.
- Support data: messages you send through our contact form or support channels.
- Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, device details, pages visited, timestamps, and error logs.
- Payment and billing data: plan and billing status from our payment providers (we do not store full card numbers).
Where information comes from
- Directly from you (for example, when you create an account, contact us, or use the product).
- From your school or teacher (for example, when they add you to a class).
- Automatically from your device and browser as you use the platform.
- From third-party integrations you connect (for example, classroom or sign-in providers).
How we use your information
- Provide and improve Fluent Listening.
- Create and manage accounts, classes, and school workspaces.
- Track learning progress and generate dashboards for teachers and schools.
- Process subscriptions and manage billing.
- Respond to support requests and service communications.
- Protect security, prevent abuse, and debug product issues.
- Meet legal obligations.

- Contract: to provide the service you asked for.

How we share information
We do not sell your personal information for money.
We share information only with:

- Your school/teacher organization when they administer your class or account.
- Integration partners you choose to connect.
- Legal authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
International data transfers
We may process data in countries other than where you live. When we transfer personal data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) when required by law.
Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, including to provide the service, maintain records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations. We then delete or de-identify it.

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal information. No system is 100% secure, but we work to reduce risk and respond quickly to incidents.

We do not sell personal information. We also do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.
California residents can exercise their rights through our contact form. Authorized agents may submit requests on your behalf with appropriate proof.
Children and schools
Fluent Listening is used in educational settings. When a school provides an account, we process student information to deliver the service to that school. Schools and teachers are responsible for obtaining any required parental permissions.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies for login sessions, security, product functionality, and basic analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Some features may not work if cookies are disabled.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Some browsers send "Do Not Track" signals. There is no universal standard for those signals. Where required by law, we honor valid opt-out preference signals, including Global Privacy Control (GPC).
